People's Foundation swiftly responded to the unprecedented crisis that emerged out of Covid-19 and subsequent lockdown. Through our COVID-19 response, People's foundation have been on the field during the initial period of the lockdown and we reached out to vulnerable and marginalized communities including migrant workers. The stage one responses are immediate and relief oriented. People's foundation is working in all districts of Kerala. We have reached out with food and safety kits in 14 districts. We have also conducted virtual training to our partner NGOs, volunteers, and frontline health workers on COVID 19.The second phase includes a comprehensive rehabilitation project for families whose breadwinners died in Gulf countries due to Covid-19. In the initial stage of the pandemic, many Keralites working in the gulf region lost their jobs and a considerable number of people died. People's Foundation choked out a comprehensive rehabilitation project for their family. The project, "Thanalorukkam Aasyasamekaan", includes, housing, educational scholarship and self-employment scheme for one suitable member of affected family. The project covered 60 migrant families who lost their sole breadwinners in the Gulf countries due to Covid-19.In the third phase we have arranged 300 fully equipped Covid-19 treatment beds in three hospitals. The project aimed at supporting the health care system by providing additional capacity while the entire system was at the brink of overwhelming during the mighty second wave in Kerala. Our Covid Bed project provided 300 fully equipped beds for hospitals namely Harippad Huda Trust in Alappuzha district, Perumpilavu Ansar in Thrissur district and Santhi in Kozhikode district. These hospitals ensure quality treatment for patients at a subsidised and affordable price.
